Winning the lottery is a dream many people hope to achieve. Unfortunately for the vast majority, they will never win. Winning the lottery is based simply on luck and chance, and there is no way to guarantee winning. But, there are a few ways to increase your chances.
Purchase More Than One Ticket
The more tickets you purchase, the higher your chances of winning. Keep in mind, that even purchasing multiple tickets increases your chances only ever so slightly. The chances of winning the lottery jackpot are 100 000 000 to 1, and much of the time even worse.
Start a Lottery Pool
Getting together with co-workers, friends or family to purchase tickets and choose numbers may increase your chances of winning. Depending on how many people join the pool, your shares (if you win) will be less, but if you find yourself spending more on lottery tickets than you hoped, this could, at the very least, save you a bit of money on lottery tickets.
The Amount of Tickets Purchased Does not Affect Your Chances
Many people wrongly assume that they have a higher chance of winning the lottery if less people play, but this is not true. The only time this may be true is if you are entering a raffle, where only entries are counted. Your odds in the lottery stay the same, regardless of how many people play. Consider this: If only a single person purchases a lottery ticket, do their chances go up? No.
Play Less, Buy More
Playing less often, but buying more tickets when you do play can increase your chances of winning. Similar in theory to pooling together money to purchase multiple tickets, the more tickets you have, the higher your chances.
Play the Same Numbers
Playing the same numbers every time you play can increase your chances. It doesn’t even matter which numbers you play, as long as they are the same every time.
